Paychex Names New Vice President of Information Technology Operations

Sanjay Hiranandani, a 20-year veteran technology leader, most recently was chief technology officer for a national telecommunications company

ROCHESTER, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Paychex, Inc. (NASDAQ:PAYX), a leading provider of payroll, human resource, and employee benefits solutions for small and medium-sized businesses, today announced the appointment of Sanjay Hiranandani as the company’s new vice president of information technology operations. The Paychex Board of Directors also appointed him an officer of the company.

Hiranandani joins Paychex with 20 years of technology leadership experience. Most recently, he served as senior vice president and chief technology officer of the former PAETEC Holding Corp., a Fortune 1000 telecommunications company acquired earlier this month by Windstream Corp. (NASDAQ:WIN), a leading national provider of advanced network communications.

During his 12-year tenure with PAETEC, Hiranandani was the architect of the company’s infrastructure, including data services. Most recently, he designed the expansion of PAETEC’s nationwide data center footprint and launch of its cloud services. Prior to joining PAETEC, Hiranandani was vice president of advanced technologies for TeleBeam Inc. Before that, he was lead network architect for Cornell University.

Hiranandani holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in science and technology studies from Cornell. He begins his new role at Paychex today, December 19, 2011.
