Paychex Offers Certified Payroll in 50 States

New partnership with Points North provides accurate, compliant certified payroll reporting for construction and other government contracts nationwide.

ROCHESTER, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Many government contractors across the country--including a growing number of large and small construction firms--that use Paychex payroll services can guarantee accuracy and save time and money with certified payroll solutions. Paychex has partnered with Points North data integration services to expand its federal certified payroll offerings to include state- and local-level solutions for companies that receive government funding.

A U.S. federal law, the Davis-Bacon Act of 1931, set wage-rate requirements on public works projects. All contractors and subcontractors who engage in government construction contracts and federally assisted construction projects over $2,000 are required to submit weekly certified payroll reports to ensure government compliance.

Many government contractors are subject to the Davis-Bacon Act, including more and more construction-industry firms and subcontractors, as a result of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), which provided billions of dollars in funding for the improvement of the nation's infrastructure that in turn created a slew of government-funded construction projects that require certified payroll reporting.

"Our partnership with Points North allows us to provide our clients with a streamlined solution for meeting the prevailing wage and reporting requirements at all levels of government-subsidized work," said Michael Gioja, Paychex vice president of product management and development. "With Points North as our partner, we help our clients keep their focus on their business by offering convenient and accurate certified payroll reporting that relieves the hassles and stress of meeting complex federal regulations."

Points North integrates with Paychex payroll software to provide comprehensive and accurate certified payroll reports, including the most frequently required WH-347 Payroll Certification Form and the WH-348 Statement of Compliance Form. Points North provides reporting on the most commonly used municipal, state, and federal forms. The software allows differentiation between federal and state reports by job, and can generate both union and non-union reports.

"Points North is very excited about the strength that this strategic partnership can provide our mutual clients," said John Foucault, president and CEO of Points North. "Our complimentary offerings broaden and enhance the end-user experience as well as their return on investment. When used with Paychex, the Points North Certified Payroll Reporting solution allows for the timely delivery of complex, compliance-driven prevailing wage reports."

In addition to guaranteed accuracy and convenience, outsourcing payroll and certified payroll reporting with Paychex and Points North gives customers numerous benefits:

-- Automatically creates reports from weekly payroll data.
-- Captures all employer, employee, and job information.
-- Provides a "No Work" report that is required after a temporary break in
        work.

        reprinted at any time.
