Celebrate 401(k) Day the Paychex Way
Friday, September 7 is National 401(k) Day
ROCHESTER, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
"Make Every Day 401(k) Day" is the theme for this year's 401(k) Day celebration on September 7, 2007. The Profit Sharing/401(k) Council of America (PSCA) sponsors 401(k) Day to highlight the value of employer sponsored profit-sharing and 401(k) plans. As retirement follows work, 401(k) Day falls on the Friday of National Payroll Week, an annual celebration of America's wage earners and the payroll professionals who see to it that they are paid accurately and on time.
At Paychex, every day is 401(k) Day. More than 45,000 Paychex clients offer 401(k) plans to their employees, making the company the nation's largest recordkeeper by total number of plans, according to CFO magazine's 2007 401(k) Providers Guide. Last year alone, Paychex increased 401(k) participation by 11,000 plans.
Workers across the country have been contributing to 401(k) plans for more than 25 years. At Paychex, client employee participation in 401(k) plans has grown to more than 460,000 people joining in on the savings.
"401(k) Day helps us to emphasize the importance of spreading awareness about 401(k) plan participation," said Tony Tortorella, vice president of sales for Paychex's Human Resource Services division. "As the country's population gets older, we need to remind Americans that saving for retirement is key to enjoying life after work comfortably - 401(k) Day helps us do this with a little bit of fun."
About 401(k) Day and National Payroll Week
The Profit Sharing/401(k) Council of America will have four distinct 401(k) Day campaigns, one for each season of the year, to help plan sponsors increase awareness for contributions to 401(k) programs that will assist individuals in preparing for financial stability in retirement.
Founded by the American Payroll Association in 1996, National Payroll Week celebrates the hard work of America's 146 million wage earners and the payroll professionals who pay them. Together, through the payroll withholding system, they contribute, collect, report, and deposit approximately $1.6 trillion, or 64.3 percent, of the annual revenue of the U.S. Treasury. Paychex is a platinum sponsor of National Payroll Week.
